These images are photograms, which is an old photographic processes. It was created on the glass in the darkroom using objects, fabric and domestic fluids, then developed in the darkroom and scanned, then printed on fine art paper.
After working with very colourful scenes, I am now trying to convey a simplified impression in the darkroom in a monochrome and supernatural style.
My aim is to create something primordial and a feeling of disturbance and uncertainty in the viewer and challenge his relationship with our unpredictable world.
I used to be an impulsive and playful person but have been confronted twice to serious diseases in my close family. That led me to question my perception of our future and my ambiguous relationship with the nature, lethal energy and chaos.
I want to use art to deal with the thin line between beauty and evil, health and death, nature, purity and microbes and I use abstraction in photography to reflect the link between these concepts. As I cannot make sense of the world, it helps me to play to play with materials, go back to the core and follow my intuition. I tackle my fear by looking directly at our dangerous world and become an alchemist.
